Trail Updates

Spring is in the Air!
April, 2003

Ozaukee County has applied for two Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Grants. Each grant proposal is for the construction of a pedestrian/bike bridges over I-43. These two bridges would eliminate 50% of the on-road portion if the trail, thus making the trail safer for everyone.

Thank You! Thanks to everyone that sent in letters of support for the CMAQ Grants. 26 letters were received in less that a week. Your support really makes a difference!

www.interurbantrail.us has a new look! Thanks to Joyce Steinbach for creating the cool heartbeat intro to the page. Thanks also go out to Tammy Guth for creating the animated picture in the new trail photo link. Another addition includes links to news articles related to the Ozaukee Interurban Trail.

At the last Trail Advisory Meeting, new subcommittees were created and members volunteered to serve on subcommittees that they were interested in. Please take a moment to review these subcommittees at:
www.interurbantrail.us/Subcommittees.htm

The Ozaukee Interurban Trail is featured on a new Milwaukee Metro Web Site. Check out the great trail photo at:
 www.metromilwaukee.org.

Miller Ride for the Arts will utilize a portion of the trail the morning of Sunday, June 1, 2003
