August, 2002
During the 2002 Ozaukee County Fair, hundreds of
county residents visited the Ozaukee County Tourism Council and
Ozaukee County Land & Water Conservation Department booths to pick up
a map of the Trail and to ask questions regarding the progress of
Trail construction. County residents repeatedly stated that they love
the Trail, are already using the portions that are paved and are
looking forward to the completion of the Trail.
Trail maps are now available through the Ozaukee
County Tourism Council (1-800-403-9898) or at your local community
Chamber of Commerce.
The trail has now been paved from Pioneer Road in
Cedarburg north to the Sheboygan County Line! Bridge construction has
begun in Mequon / Thiensville. Weather permitting, the entire trail
will be open by the grand opening, September 28, 2002.
The next Ozaukee Interurban Trail Advisory Council Meeting is Tuesday
August 20, 2002 at the Village of Grafton’s Police Department Community
Meeting Room. |
